In the southern portion of the state between Alamos, Navojoa and Huatabampo is an area that will grab the interest of the dedicated ecotourism. Framed by an extraordinary contrast featuring from colonial style towns to beautiful beaches; this tour offers a unique experience, where you will find many alternative activities such as hunting, bird watching or water rafting.

 The diversity of the scenery is like no other in Mexico: great tide lands, mangrove swamps, inlets, golden sand dunes, semi / tropical and desert vegetation, as well as an incredible diversity of plant and animal species; also, the nearby mayo river is a refuge for the wildlife of the area,  near its shores inhabit the mayo indians, creators of beautifully handcrafted wool carpets and blankets and intricately carved masks and sculptures.  The mayos are always eager to welcome and interact with visitors to their area. 

Alamos Located to the east of the State, this is a favorite place for many visitors owing it to its magnificent weather, with a maximum average of 30ºC during July. Those who like to practice sport fishing find  the "Adolfo Ruiz Cortinez Dam", "El Mocuzarit", "Tetajiosa" and "El Venadito"  ideal sites, where is easy to  find lobina, tilapia, catfish and mojarra; also those who enjoy hunting can put it into practice in this region, where they will find species like deer, javelin, and wild turkey.

Navojoa Its located 53 kilometers west of Alamos; it has historic monuments honoring famous characters such as social supporters. The City Hall and The church of the Sagrado Corazon de
Jesus is worth mentioning because of their beautiful architecture. Added to all interesting places, there are several beautiful and clean beaches inviting for fun; there is also deer, duck and dove hunting around a practice quite popular along the Mayo River, where several hunting and recreational areas exist.

Etchojoa This county offers diverse natural resources for the tourist in various sites along the river, such as orchards, poplar groves, riverbed bend, and spots offering basic services for the visitors' recreation. Traditional festivities of the Yoreme community are of a great importance.

Huatabampo Has been very popular due to its beaches: Huatabampito, Las Bocas and Camahuiroa, used for the recreation of residents and visitors, a great place to visit, have fun and enjoy all the natural beauties Sonora has to offer.
